Dr. Dermot F Smurfit, Chairman at ML Capital
Dr. Smurfit has over 40 years of experience in heading up Irish businesses employing over 40,000 staff in 32 countries worldwide. Formerly joint deputy chairman of Jefferson Smurfit Group Plc, Dr. Smurfit is currently Chairman of Powerflute Oyl, Eurolink Motorway Services Ltd and Cosmo Specialty Fibres Inc. He has also stood as a former Non-Executive Chairman of Peach Holdings Inc., former Chairman of Anker PLC, former Chairman of Pankaboard Oy and a former Non-Executive Director of ACE Ltd. Dr. Smurfit graduated from Oatlands College, Dublin in 1962 and subsequently completed Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program in 1991. Dr. Smurfit became an honorary Doctor of Business Administration for the International Management Centres Association in 1998.
John Lowry, Director at ML Capital
John has spent his entire career of over 20 years working within the funds management industry. Prior to co-founding ML Capital, John was the founding Partner at Tara Capital, a leading global distributor of hedge funds. John gained an MA in Economics & Geography from Trinity College, Dublin.
Cyril Delamare, CEO at ML Capital
Cyril is the Chief Executive Officer and Head of Global Distribution. Prior to co-founding ML Capital, Cyril was a Partner at Tara Capital, a leading global distributor of hedge funds. He has covered investors and run coverage groups across every region of Europe since 2000 with a particular focus on France and Switzerland. Cyril gained a degree in International Business from L’Institut Supérieur Européen de Gestion et de Commerce (ISEG) in Lyon, France.
Richard Day, COO at ML Capital
Richard is the Chief Operating Officer and Head of the UK Office. Prior to joining ML Capital, he spent 12 months as a senior consultant advising the alternative asset management industry on corporate governance issues post the 2008 crises. Richard spent the first 9 years of his career at Morgan Stanley working within a number of different roles within Operations, Equities and Asset Management. Richard read Politics, Philosophy and Economics at the University of Essex.
Ronnie Tanti, CRO at ML Capital
Ronnie is the Chief Risk Officer and Head of the Malta Office. Prior to joining ML Capital, Ronnie was employed in a senior position with one of the leading advisory firms in Malta. Ronnie started his career with the Bank of Valletta Group, where for 29 years he held a number of senior roles in the group's Treasury and Wealth Management Divisions. During the course of his career Ronnie has attended various courses on the implementation of MiFID and the local regulatory environment.
